You are absolutly right ,It is Daydream Believer and yes it did start it;s terrace life as Peter Reid ,but the minute Keegan went to NUFC ,it was adapted by the Macums and the Mancs .It's the version I remember and I work with a Sunderland fan who still sings it the office from time to time.I mean a Sunderland fan is not going to refer to his own manager as a fat Geordie bastard is he .
As far as not working with Nigel Adkins .You had to be in the Tap the other night after the game.I don't think we really care if it slightly doesn't ryhme with Sleepy Jean.It was being belted out all night and it bloody works believe me.

I think with this one it's more about the sentiment .That is a classic terrace chant and everyone gets it.The Saints fans and ourselves.It's purely based on sentiment and intent .Hopefully once we get a couple of rollicking renditions at Walsall ,it will be a shoe in when we finally play them,especially if we are winning.
It took a few goes to remove fat and Southampton from the same verse,because that did not work. Once removed it was blinding.Again you had to be there and we were well and truly bladdered by that time anyway.
