Within reason, of course. I'm 57, but if I believed I was 67 I still wouldn't get a pension, and if I believed I was 7 I still wouldn't be allowed into school. Society should accept my belief only to the extent that it doesn't disadvantage society as a whole. Hence my comments earlier suggesting that most of the aspects of sex/gender where gender would override sex are trivial areas where it makes little difference. Call a transwoman "madam" by all means, but if she still has a penis, she is not going into a woman's jail.
These outside indicators were addressed in the video quite nicely I thought.

But yes I take your point.

Trans isn't based on science. It's based on feelings.

Same as religion,

If a trans woman and a man are buried next to each other in 100 years if an archaeologist digs them up they will conclude it is two men.

People are being forced to believe in trans as it's being pushed onto people in work places as being real and you can't question that belief system.
The premise of these videos is that it is based on science he even explains where the science is at. In one of the videos he clearly shows a number of scientific studies that show that it is based on science.

Anyway I broke my rule of responding to devil's advocate.

I'm on a medical school examination committee where one of the other examiners is trans. It is so not an issue. Times change, and we move on

Thanks for posting, though
Is she fit ?

Alistair Campbell made a good point that people who have issue with trans people are almost always over 30, often much older. From anecdotal experience that seems largely true.

It can be worth being intentional about working out what your beliefs are and also what your values are. Living being driven by our values, as opposed to our behaviour being led by our beliefs, is I think a happier and more consistent life for us and those around us. If your values are to treat everyone with dignity and respect than what you believe about gender (or anything else) is secondary.

It should be like religion and God.

An atheist shouldn't be forced into believing in a concept nor forced into pretending something they don't see exists. They have for a long time now had the freedom to call it out or mock it as they saw fit.

This should be the same for trans.

People are right that trans people should be able to believe whatever they want, that's their right. The flip side to that is nobody else should be compelled to believe in what the trans person believes or thinks.

We are now getting to the point though of anyone who isn't a believer can face real life consequences for not believing in something that to their eyes doesn't exist.

That's not progressive, that's regressive and it's where it begins to become problematic.

My word.
I have often thought that, from your comments, you were full of cr*p but that ,sir is brilliant.
Respect.

that may be the premise but he makes very little effort to show it. in the first video he asserts transgenderism is biological, in the rebutal video posted he breezes past some acedemic papers without real examination, as if a published paper proves something absolutely (the first paper concludes "maybe"). he's also casually dismissive of some of the counter-arguments, he could make a better case with evidence, but doesnt and just says they're wrong (point about external evidence and populations). thats not science.

The amount of people who are now advocating the re-nationalisation of the railways who were totally behind it years ago is astounding.

This thread is reminiscent of the old commute. You get on the train to find everyone is there, in a grumpy mood, in their regular seats

Thanks for the link. It's obvious there is confusion about the word gender. I like his definition of it (that it is a biological construct), but I’m not sure that’s the original definition is it? In which case it’s no surprise that there’s a lot of confusion.

At the end of my tether
A very interesting thread , and not what some would expect to find on a football forum.
Personally I am “ old school “ about trans and gay issues, but I would not want to disrespect or abuse anybody. I accept that we live in a world where values have changed mightily since I was young.
I do wonder about the value of public money being used for cosmetic surgery and treatments and I have concern for young people who seem to hear nothing but a “non binary “ message. I read this on the NHS site

“ Most treatments offered at this stage are psychological rather than medical. This is because in many cases gender variant behaviour or feelings disappear as children reach puberty.”

However, I accept that I am just a layman in these things.. and would alway try to treat people properly.

I really think it's that simple. Try to treat people the way you would like to be treated if you were in their situation

I personally have no interest in Trans rights or wrongs as long as it doesn’t impact me . Each to their own .

Lesbians seem to have a problem with the trans movement . Could the L in LBTQGIA be removed ?

https://www.lbc.co.uk/news/cardiff-pride-police-lesbians/

'Whatever you are, get off the road': Lesbian group that opposes 'transgenderism' told to leave Pride parade by cops

You seem to describing ‘Lesbians’ as a homogeneous group?

Just like heterosexual people, ‘Lesbians’ are diverse, individual and very different.

The Lesbian group you cite are as marginal in the LGBTQ+ community as your views are on here. I imagine they are linked to this women and her organisation:
