Thank you, comforting to hear. In those twenty years I have had several bad bouts of flu whilst unvaccinated. Glad I began the annual jab last year.

Another endorsement for the flu jab from me. I'd had flu (real flu, the full two or three week job) three or four times in my life. I've been having the jabs for about 20 years now - just had one dose of flu. The other bonus for me is that I used to get that mini-flu thing (a chill; man-flu; heavy cold, whatever you call it - three or four days with a bunged up nose, thick head and aching all over) a lot. Since the vaccinations - hardly at all.

Comforting as well CG. A similar story to me but sounds like you had it worse. Like you I have been wondering whether the Covid measures of the past year have contributed to the protection but TB’s story does rather confirm your experience.

Who is clearly a very sensible woman. My mother in her 80s has been trying to get me to have it for years.

Flu completely knocks me out, but can be exacerbated with the weird reactions I have to medication.

I once ended up with a secondary infection in my chest so bad, they prescribed some form of pain killers on top of the anti-biotics.

I was doing a Masters after work at the time and had to drop out of the mock exams. At some point (apparently) I went into the University to tell them but have no memory of doing so :lolol:

I've got a number of stories like that and should have just started taking the vaccine years ago.

So to be honest, I was completely shitting myself in March last year. What I had probably wasn't Covid (too early) but my chest was on fire in Jan and Feb. The symptoms had gone but I felt someone had cut me with a razor inside. The pain was waking me up.

If Covid was gonna hit after that, I was in for a bad time. Especially as my neighbours upstairs and next door got it very badly without hospital treatment.

Fear of a vaccine ? What a load of bollocks. I'm struggling to remember the relief after I had my second.

Covid19 is a SARS virus, and a lot of work had already been done with that vaccine. The DNA of the 19 virus was added, and tested on volunteers like Notters. That’s why it was produced quickly.
As you said, no corners were cut.

As an aside, I had my annual flu jab this morning.

Yes, and it's not a drug, it's a vaccine.

Probably. I have no plans on getting vaccinated.

There is no reason for the people in my generation to believe what "academics", media, politicians, governments and average-Joes are pushing for. We know they all pushed for growth and capitalism, and now we are facing the sociological and environmental consequences. We know how they pushed for competition rather than collaboration. We know how it pushed for a whole lot of shit now affecting us in very bad ways. So when you're out there saying "you all should get vaccinated", its not very tempting. We prefer to contemplate rather than blindly follow those footsteps, knowing how often you got lost.

Never trust a hippy.
