Probiz county ground

shaame that the new seats have blocked out the last view of the sea, but I 'd rather have more people able to sit in the ground than admire a nice view of a tiny bit of the channel

I've always fancied having one of those flats that overlook the ground.
Nothing nicer than sitting out on your balcony on a warm summer's day watching a bit of cricket!

Three new signings today as well!

Subject to ECB clearance, Naved Arif, Lou Vincent and Kirk Wernars will all be joining The PROBIZ County Ground outfit for the 2011 season after putting pen to paper on one-year deals.

Pakistani left-arm seamer Arif, 29, has played for Pakistan A and has first-class experience from his own country gaining nearly 150 wickets in his 30 matches. He intends to qualify under EU law through his Danish wife and has recently been playing in the Lancashire league for Rawtenstall CC.

Vincent, 32, is a vastly experienced batsman both in international and county cricket. The New Zealander has played 23 Tests and is a veteran of 102 one-day internationals, and has also had spells with Lancashire, Northamptonshire and Worcestershire.

He has a Test match double-hundred to his name, against Sri Lanka in 2005, and will soon be operating on a British passport. He is expected to become available for Sussex during May and will be primarily focussed on helping to drive the one day teams, whilst providing cover for the four-day side.

South African Under-19 International all-rounder Wernars, 19, plays provincial cricket for Western Province in his homeland, batting left-handed and bowling right-arm seam. He played two games against Sussex for the Cape Cobras Emerging Players on last year’s pre-season trip to Dubai, and qualifies through his Dutch passport.

These signings virtually complete the 2011 squad, other than for the t20 competition where a further overseas place remains unfilled. The Club intend to make a further announcement on this matter in due course.

Professional Cricket Manager Mark Robinson said, “They’re all very exciting signings. Naved is a late developer, and with his background in Pakistan he’s had to do it the tough way. His record out there on unhelpful wickets is outstanding and he’s got the potential to change games.

“Lou is of course an experienced international batsman who can turn a game in his own right, and he’s a brilliant fielder. He’s on an initial one-day contract but will cover the four-day team when needed.

“We’ve had many good reports about Kirk over the winter through our South African connections, he’s a lad with promise and a genuine all-rounder. He hits the ball hard and can open the bowling as well, which will give us more options.

“It’s been a long winter getting the squad together but I’m happy that we have the players we want on two or three year contracts and that we have also strengthened the squad.

“Our priority all winter has been to strengthen the bowling and ideally bring in an all-rounder as well. To do that and to be able to bring a proven match winner like Lou is exciting and sets us up nicely for the summer.”

Superb news that will strenghten the squad on all fronts, giving cover for international call ups, and will hopefully see us in contention for all three trophies.
I feel a good season coming on at the new revamped Probiz County Ground (Hove)
