I just meant by using the Edit Mode... renaming the player names. i.e. changing all the Oranges to Van Nistelrooy, Kluivert etc...

There'll even be a completely new way of experiencing the game, as gamers can pick a single player to control throughout the match.

how cool would that be a first person football game thats gotta be a first.

There was a game called Libero Grande (or something similar) on the old Playstation that was a "one person football game" where you just controlled the one player... and apparently it was utter bollocks, would get very boring very easily i imagine.

Are they really two different games? Come to think of it, perhaps the Xbox one isn't pro evolution.....

No, it's ISS2.

The player can only supply the skill up to the level where everyone you play against gets to grips with the same skills... that's the only gripe I have with it.

Er, yeah. If you want tricks, and special button presses to learn, you're probably better off with FIFA.

PES gives you the basic controls - the rest is up to the player. As it should be, IMO.

Virtua Tennis (1 or 2) is another classic in the same vein. It only uses two buttons but experts can place the ball over the Net exactly where they want it - using timing and positioning (ie skill), not dumbass button combinations.

Anyway...

Border country.East Preston.
Virtua Tennis was great on the Dreamcast.

V Tennis 2 though was much easier and not as good. the 4 player rallies we had would last forever

Yep Watford, it's quality!

Smash Court Tennis is the only other i think, and in comparison it's bollocks!

Enjoy!

And whilst we're on the subject of sport games, anybody know of any half decent cricket games for the PS2? Used to love Brian Lara on the PS1. Only one i've played or heard of is Cricket 2002, which isn't bad.

(oh, and watford could you pass on the details of how much and where you're ordering the game from? I want some of the action too!)

WOZZA, I am looking for a good tennis game. Is Virtual Tennis 2 the 'one'?

Brixtaan was right (no, really) - the first VT game on Dreamcast was best. In fact, it's probably still the best (serious) tennis game around.

VT2 on PS2 ain't bad though. You can probably get it quite cheap.

BTW Watford, I'm involved in organising Konami's Official PES3 Championship (as I was last year, when the winner came from Leytonstone. Tsk!). It's - gulp - a league format this year. PM me your email address and I'll keep you posted with details. Doesn't look like anyone else on here is interested now the Albion are in FIFA. :shootself

I agree that PES2 is far better than the current FIFA game, but i admit i will buy both this year. PES3 looks great from the pictures i've seen but FIFA being online and having Brighton will make it a must have.

No matter how crap Fifa is compared to PES, that sounds a very exciting prospect...
