but is there a way of havinbg the flashing orange banner appear if youve got unread private messages??

Yes. Simply change you background wallpaper colour to orange every time you get a new unread PM and then simply blink lots of times whilst looking at it.

You'll get it now as I've turned it on on your account.

Look in User CP - you can configure what notification you get when you receive a PM.

In 'user cp' 'edit options', there is a selection box you can tick, to have a pop-up box open in the centre of the screen each time you get a message.*






*not that is affects me, as having no cyber-friends, I get no messages.
