And the question that has to be asked is wil it be taking away work from people on the outside??

Not sure that it will...stitching mail bags, breaking rocks in the hot sun!

I think work is a good thing for prisoners. However, to say that human beings should lose all human rights if they break the law is in many cases ignorance of the highest order.

I agree with Nibble on this, far better that they do something productive with their time, rather than being banged up in a cell for 23 hours a day. They have already lost the freedom to enjoy many of the things we take for granted, at least if they are doing something productive on the inside it may make it a little more likely that they will avoid returning to crime once released, which has to be the aim of rehabilitation.
