Someone was saying on Mock The Week the other night that painting the inside of the prison pink and making all the inmates wear pink was a great tool to stop reoffending!!

National Service is definitely not the answer, the Army is a professional volunteer organisation, filling it up with what may be considered the dregs of society will dilute its skills base and reduce its efficiency.

National Service is a very good answer... but to a slightly different problem. National Service (with non volunteers kept back in barracks etc) would go along way to keeping little oiks out of trouble in the first place and instill some sence of pride, decency and disipline that is lacking in our society.

Make the little fuckers do Military service instead. A year or so on the front line in Afghanistan or Iraq will make a lot of them think twice before they do it again.

No more imigrants etc as ten thousand out of 80000 are already banged up.

I guess we could do without Frutos but it might leave us a little short in the goalkeeping department.

an easy way out for murderers/paeodophiles tho..

i would rather huntley et al. served life (and i mean rest of his life not 25 years or whatever the sentence is now) for what he did. he neds a small cold damp cell not sky / playstation 2 / xbox/ king sized beds with daily room service and should be given bread and water to eat not a menu, i pay my taxes and cannot afford sky, for people who are a danger to socity should not be offered luxury items the majoroty of the ;law abiding tax paying public cannot afford

Its being done in a prison in Mississippi I believe. The idea is to humiliate the cons and it apparently works. Mind you American prisons are very nasty places, ours aren't great but theirs are pure evil.

Answer is simple,ban jailing anyone. After all jail must be a breach of HUMAN RIGHTS.

thats not funny... there are people who actually think this. there is a campaign in EU court to allow prisoner to vote as thats against their human rights. its only a matter of time until someone attempts to have jails banned.
