I don't think that's true, i'm not going to say anything bad about Di because it's ALWAYS sad when someone young dies (young to me, is under 50!) but when a loved one dies, even when they have been ill for some time (like my parents) the pain stays for a long time. I also lost a 19 year old nephew in an accident and although that was 15 years ago not a day goes past.... I'm rambling now...what i'm saying is, is tonight when you have a pint (when I say 'you' I mean everyone on NSC) raise a glass to Desperateseagulls Dad, Jamons Parents, Kevin Ball, William and Harry's mother, my best friend Andy's mother and so on and so on and so on because when these people who meant so much to somebody are gone they are gone and they're not coming back.

She may have been a sex obsessed thick as pigshit clotheshorse, but she was the PEOPLE's sex obsessed thick as pigshit clotheshorse.

Sorry about your dad, mine died over 20 years ago, and it is something you never truly get over.

Cue a NSC binfest. How people derive so much venom, bile and hatred against basically a good person alebit it a little eccentric is beyond me. They can't even have the resepct to NOT post anything on this thread.

I agree with US, she may not have been the brightest tool in the box but she used her position to try and gain influence with people in power about issues that mattered to her, particularly in relation to AIDS and land-mines. Some of her compassion appears to have rubbed off on her son (Prince William), who comes across as a top bloke, he should make an excellent king one day!

If that were the case then El Presidente, then it takes one to know one.

I dont actually think she deserved that and she did a lot of good for charities and raised their profile and therefore their income. She was basically a nice person, and a good and loving mother, who was let down by her husband, who should have married his horse faced Camilla years ago instead of pretending to love Diana while carrying on the affair with horse face (and relax!).

I can't help thinking that if Charles had married Camilla and had an affair with Diana. Everyone would have said good luck to him. Looks are far too important in some peoples list of credentials.

The point you seem to be missing is that he married Diana to produce heirs to the throne so therefore used her while continuing his affair with Camilla. It is not about looks but more about Charles playing the prince charming act while really being something else.

Do you think that if she had a face like a bag of spanners such as Camilla or Anne this thread would exist today?

Well, for a start ...

Inviting Piers Morgan round for lunch to plant twisted stories about the Royal Family in the tabloid papers.
Oh I see, your concern is for our well balanced, fully functional royal family who acted with honour and compassion throughout her marriage to charles, and there I was thinking you were jumping on the bash diana bandwagon because its the done thing, how silly of me .

Neither of the above.

She was no better and no worse than the rest of them. I just object to her being singled out for a sainthood that she doesn't deserve.
