Said on radio he was treated for a drug overdose 6 days ago.Was a drug addict but announced he was clean some years ago.Shame he couldn't resist, late fifties early sixties can be a difficult time for men.

So glad I finally got to see him in Leeds on his last UK tour. He was amazing. Really gutted about this one.

Will we ever get to here the treasure trove hidden away in Paisley Park, he recorded something most days and its believed an album could be released every year of new material for over a hundred years.

Sad Day hopefully won't be the last we hear of his music

Turns out this actually wasn't the case. 2016 really WAS a terrible year for major celebrity deaths, especially in music. Losing Prince, Bowie and George Michael (amongst others) in one year was an exceptional occurrence.
