*Yorkshire accent* In my day it were a Tamagotchi if you were lucky. Perhaps you'd be unlucky, and then it would be Dino Jr., and you'd make do with that.

I don't remember there ever being such a craze as a youth about a drink or foodstuff, but my long term memory is pretty shocking so...
POGS! Wow. I forgot those.

TBH it sounds like you would had spent more than £15 on fuel looking for a normal priced drink anyway, so the £15 (even though at a disgusting price) would had probably worked out cheaper

Can't you take the £15 drink back to the shop for a refund? Say it's damaged or has got something in it that you are allergic too? If the opportunistic, grifter says no, is it possible to the £15 one back to Asda or would the barcode tell you its from another shop?
If I had 15 quid I think I’d prefer to buy a tomato.

Luckily my kids (13 and 7, both girls) don't give a shit about this stuff, it's not on their radar at all.

I remember when Nintendo Wii’s were the must have console, sold out everywhere, people queuing outside shops every morning in case they’d had a delivery etc.

I wandered into the local Morrisons, the first place I checked, and asked if they had any. They said “yep, we’ve got a pallet full of them in the back, we just don’t put them out or advertise that we sell them in order to stop people reselling them”.

That was a very happy Christmas!
My other half’s younger sister cleaned up reselling the new PlayStation people would travel miles to get their hands on them some paying more than she asked for to reserve it.

My Prime day...

Lunchtime - get a notification from the Prime Tracker app that Sainsbury's Lyons Farm have some. I needed to pick up a couple of bits, so figured I'd head there to get them and see. March straight to the sports drink section - no obvious sign at all. Try not to look like a Prime Wanker but as other PWs were very obvious, I'm sure I stood out as one. Picked up the things I needed and headed to the checkouts, where there's a small Prime stand that has nothing left.

Pick son up from school - he proudly tells me he sold an empty Prime can and an empty Prime bottle to another kid for £10. I feel a curious mixture of pride, at his entrepreneurial spirit, and shame, knowing how I'd feel if he bought the same home and told me they had cost him a tenner.

Dinner time - same son reveals he'd struck a deal to buy a full bottle of some new special flavour from another kid for £13. With the transaction yet to complete, he was straight onto WhatsApp to tell the Prime dealer that it was all off and he'd not be paying. I'm not sure I trust my son though - the kids are bloody obsessed.

The kidz here are evenly split.....in general, the girls think it's nonsense, whereas the boys are IN!! The whole thing will fizzle out once we get our cucumbers and peppers back......
