I think the biggest rip off is Chips in a chippie average £1.20 - £1.50 a portion and rolls or sandwiches which quite often are £2.99 for something simple like cheese or ham.
It is, I've only ever heard my friend from Leeds say it.
By the way, no mention of Villa in this thread so far, sort it out.
but only £1.19 for a heavenly double cheeseburger at macdonalds!!
A can of Coke, a can of 7up, a can of Dr Pepper etc.
If someone says to you can you get me a can of pop then surely you then have to ask them 'yes and what exactly do you want'? A can of pop is a bit generic innit?
and that was a penny with a d not a p..........and flapjacks and fruit salads were four for a penny (I hesitate to say a farthing each!)
Now those REALLY were the days
I remember Polos being 7p a packet.. average now is 50p
Sometimes generic has it's uses, if you went round someone's house and they offered you a drink they'd say "tea, coffee, beer, cider" you wouldn't interogate them as to what brand of tea bags or beer it was. Besides I rarely drink pop anyway, I prefer the free squash at work.

Weren't they 'Blackjacks', not flapjacks? Flapjacks were cakes my Mum used to bake...............and that was a penny with a d not a p..........and flapjacks and fruit salads were four for a penny (I hesitate to say a farthing each!)
