BHA (1st) make the long journey to play Preston North End (11th) next Saturday. The Seagulls have a woeful record against The Lillywhites. We have never won at Deepdale, stretching back to our inaugural match in 1908. Indeed our record is not much better in Sussex! The current squad failed to win 2-2 with PNE scoring an injury time equaliser. We haven't beaten them at home at The Amex in 3 attempts & one has to go back to 2004 for an Albion victory 1-0 at Withdean (& that was an own goal !)
The record stands at 7 BHA wins, 13 draws & 12 defeats, meaning we beat them on average once every 15 years! The woeful record went against Sheffield Wednesday earlier in the season, with our first victory at Hillsborough. Can the players, finally give those who make the 560 mile round trip smile with a win?
Without Dunk, we will have to do it the hard way, but with PNE realistically playing for pride, surely, it's our time now? It won't be easy. PNE were unlucky in conceding a last minute goal against Arsenal in the Cup. They are proficient goal scorers as well with goals scored in their past 9 matches, though it's also 9 games since they kept a clean sheet. Albion have the best record in the league away form in the past 4 & last 8 away games. Hopefully that record will continue.
