Someone said to my old man that on their way back from the game waiting for the train from Preston Park they saw Mark McGhee!He asked him what he was doing here,McGhee replied 'I live here'. He then enquired as to whether he had just been the the game,McGhee said 'Why would I want to do that?'!

I can confirm as a resident of the Preston Park Station area Mcgoo does not live round here although he has a house in Hove somewhere.

He was indeed at Preston Park and got on my train. He had a holdall with him and I think he was heading up to Motherwell. I had a brief word with him, along the line that he had mugged his old mate Strachan over the Virgo sale. He wasn't very chuffed at that, saying that Virgo had virtually saved the club (I'll agree with him there - I think this club might have gone out of business without the Virgo sale), and muttered that Virgo was a very good player. He does still live in Withdean, but travels up and stays in Motherwell for games. I think he's still somewhat bitter at his treatment down here.
