In the 1980s my company worked on a project to relocate a glorious finishing post at a racecourse . It cost over a £1m then. Literally a case of a few thousand to move the post and finishing line and the remainder to relocate the TV facilities, Stewards facilities etc apparently.

They’ve spent some of it on some really bright lights on either side of each entrance. Absolutely blinding at night if you look at them as you drive past. Not the best idea. Might get them a bit of extra work I suppose, dazzling drivers on a major junction.

That seems quite a low proportion of fires and crashes. What were the other 1620 incidents? :unsure:
