Sussex Stationers do a good colouring and writing set for about 7 quid. My god-daughter is of a similar age and thats what she's getting(I hope she's not reading this or the surprise will be spolit)
Get down the early learning centre they have some really cool stuff in there and deals on, got the little one of the same age a little pink piano and stool for not too much
or yeah Sussex stationers, we got a whole selection of coloured cards, really nice stickers, glitter, glue etc for about 12 quid, whack all that in one of those little toolbox things and its a homemade little craft kit and keeps all their tat together, keeps them quiet, and good for learning
