I don't think the players are playing for him any more. They've had something like 2 wins this calender year, a truley DISASTROUS sequence of results which seems to date back to his half time brainstorm with the team on the pitch at Man City over Christmas.
What people seem to forget is that they were going into freefall BEFORE that, that's why he did it.
Other than that you are right, though whether they can get anyone in who'll turn it around is another issue. I think they have a fair amount of money so you never know, they struggled to recruit players in the summer, perhaps that was in part down to Brown being such an obvious tit.

Mick McCarthy for me, after his team got hammered 5 at his old club last weekend the patience of the Wolves supporters must be wearing pretty thin.

I would say Mick is pretty safe. They love him up here. The memory of Hoddle is too fresh in their minds to turn on McCarthy just yet. Also, it has been impressive how he has managed to grow a young team without splashing the cash - with the exception of Ebanks-Blake last years' Championship winning team was pretty cheap.

As a guide, my girlfriend still drinks out of her 'Super Mick' mug every day. When she stops, it'll be time to head to ladbrookes and put your morgage on McCarthy leaving. I can provide NSC with a Mick Mug update, if you wish?

My mate reckons 2 lads came in and stuck £10 each on Redknapp to go next, apparently Pompey are offering him MEGA BUCKS to come back over the next few weeks! Prob bullshit but if you have a few £ in an account could be worth it

I think Hart will outlast Brown, purely because he hasn't been in the job that long, and the fans will give him half a chance knowing that they are up shit creek financially and the decent players have all been sold.

Brown, on the other hand, has been shocking since around Christmas, the Hull fans are getting pretty pissed off with his tactics and selection, and they can't buy a win from anywhere. With the transfer window miles away, he's got no prospect of improving things.

Maybe Megson too, Bolton fans seem to hate him, and once the crowd have turned on you, the phone call from the chairman isn't usually far behind.
