Just out of interest,is there any set reason (public transport or lack off ?) why the Premier league don't play their matches on a Sunday apart from the 'Sky' covered games and the last Sunday in the season, most Prem/Lge are now played on a Saturday. Would it not give Championship and lower league clubs a higher profile if they played on the Saturday and the Premier league on a Sunday ?

Not a bad idea - in france their div 2 is fri night and top div is on a sat/sun. Similar in germany and a few others too i believe.
Imo all football should be on a sat at 3 oclock but for TV its all over the place, and whilst the audience is there that won't change

TV is King. You play when they want you to play.
If all the prem games were on a Sunday it might affect the TV viewing figures.
The traditional argument is exactly the reverse of this, but I don't believe it for a moment.

Seeing as i go to very few premiership games, i wouldnt mind at all if they were all on a sunday. It allows more attention towards the football league on the saturday, then can pick and chose the games i watch on the sunday. Problem is that premiership fans like above posters have stated probably wouldnt be as attracted to attending football on sundays. Knowing people have work the next day, poor public transport etc etc.

Quite, there is nothing wrong with the current set up.

In general, I don't think they can show live Premier league football between 2.45 and 5 pm on Saturdays as that's when the majority of matches round the country are being played.

It is very rare for live matches on different Sky Sports channels to be on at the same time.

There are odd exceptions like the last match of the season.

If they were going to move a league to Sunday I don't think it would be the Premiership
