Premier League clubs should have B teams in Championship

Don't we all think these premiership clubs are greedy enough. Not happy enough with creaming all the money out of football, now some want their own B teams playing in the Championship. Managers are complaining that their younger players are not getting enough experience. Who's fault is that?

I could not think of anything worse than having B teams in the Championship. Its not how we do it over here and I hope this never ever happens. So what do they do, keep an automatic place open for these teams.

Shows a complete lack of understanding of how football works in this country. The lower leagues as always tossed to one side in favour of the big boys, but its where the real supporters are.

I wouldn't worry to much can't see Villas-Boas being around in this country to long!

I forgot if he loses his next two matches he will be sacked.
It makes me laugh, so not only do they want a closed premiership where no teams can get relegated, they would also get their B teams in the championship.
I know it would never happen, but these statements are so annoying. Complete lack of understanding. Its as though as supporters in the lower leagues none of us exist.

England has reserve teams and youth teams that regularly play.... perhaps not as competitive as the championship but we do our share of keeping the lads sharp for a match..... Stupid idea but lets be honest....if AVB makes it past next season id be very surprised

As they were discussing on Talkshit this morning - what happens when Chelsea A gets drawn against Chelsea B (Brentford) in the FA Cup?

Neither here nor there
Vilas-Boas seems like a very charmless and tedious character from what I've seen of him. I hope he stays at Chelsea for a very long time.

He's not been over here long enough. He'll learn, or go somewhere else. Its not how we do football in England (*) and hopefully never will.

(*) Can't answer for Scotland. Sadly - in football terms - almost always been a two horse town.

Agree with that and as for Scotland, - Rangers and Celtic as you correctly state ( the only possible candidates ) could not afford to run a second string even in the lower Scottish Leagues under the current funding arrangements !

Typical premier league arrogance as shows how out of touch with reality they are. If they want to give their promising up and coming stars a good run out then no need for a B team just gives gus a call!

I understand that some teams choose not to run reserve sides for financial reasons but would have thought there were enough clubs left with teams to run at least a north division and south division playing roughly every week in midweek with winter break. Need about 50 teams in total. Leaves scope to fit in first team cup/Euro matches and local county cups. Top team in each division at end of season play a cup final. Reserve players get regular football. Simples.

it's happened in spain before.......in fact real madrid once played real madrid b in the cup final

you have to register your 'a' and 'b' team before the season starts (and i guess in january as well) so you can't just promote/demote players willy nilly

i'm pretty sure in spain the 'b' teams have to earn their right to play in the 2nd tier....they're not just placed there

in fact it's only barcelona b and villarreal b that are in the segunda division
