Having watched half of Southampton, half of Tottenham and all of palace I do hope (& know they will) the Albion approach tomorrow like Sheffield United today.

The others have a lot of questions to answer.

Our game is eroding away, slowly but surely, the grim reaper is knocking on the door.

No, not 30cm either side. If the official thinks it's offside, but replay shows it's onside (no matter how close) then the goal should stand. And indeed that is like cricket - lbw isn't either side in cricket. If the ball is missing the wicket, then it's not out, no matter how close.

Except that’s not how it works in Cricket at all...

If 1mm of the ball is hitting the stumps, the decision stays with the umpire. We are human beings, it’s a human sport, there HAS to be a margin of error.

There’s even a margin for error for drawing the god damn lines on the screen, because guess what, it’s a human placing the lines using a camera that’s 70 yards away.

If you’re happy watching a sport that will over analyse everything to the nearest 0.000001mm, then good for you. I suspect most of us are not.

6 minutes of time wasted on basic VAR decisions.

VAR time was about 5 mins.
Sub time is usually 3 mins.
They usually put another min on top for free kicks etc.

That would be 9 mins.

VAR is supposed to be a technology that rids us of bad decisions. What is going to be the new technology to give the correct added on time?

But 'we' have spent the last X years complaining about that 'margin of error'.

I get your point.

It depends with subs. If a team gets on with it, little is added on.

Ignoring the top two, is this the most exciting Premier League in years?

If Villa were to win to,morrow, the bottom three would be five points adrift. That's pretty demoralising.
