Tough games for all five sides immediately below us
Southampton and Watford are two absolutely dreadful sides. No way we’re finishing below either of those.
Well that scummers comeback tops off a shit day results wise. All those praising our lovely football and new approach won’t be so vocal when in 2 matches times we will quite conceivably be in the bottom 3. Saints have 2 very winnable games next and we have 2 very tricky ones. Anyone who thought we wouldn’t be flirting with the bottom 3 with that strike force is deluded.

Make sure you have an extra large nappy on tonight.
Good job I ordered a job lot on Black Friday then
As for the new approach I think it deserves praise as so far we are not looking like a side who would only win 3 out of 23 games. If that happens then we can be worried. Way too early in the season to be panicking
This time last year Hughton's side didn't look like it would go 3 from 23 either. In fact Brighton were beating Palace 3-1 about this time 12 months ago - had won 5 of the previous 8 and were in 10th place with 9 points. Today Brighton are 15th with 15 points - 3 losses on the bounce and a game on Wednesday away to Arsenal. Win at Arsenal and then you could argue things are going pretty well.
We were playing really poorly this time last year (palace game aside pretty much) despite picking up points. We won 3 on the bounce v west ham, Newcastle and wolves but were very, very lucky in all three. At the time it was great, but it was no surprise to many when suddenly our luck ran out and we starting getting the results we deserved. So far this season, it has felt very different. Almost the opposite in a fair few games coming away thinking how the fvck did we not get anything from that (as opposed to how the fvck did we win that this time last year). We're still very much a work in progress, but anyone who can't see the improvement from last season is an idiot, imo

If Potter mirrors that record feel free to come on here and say I told you so. The fact is Hughton did go on to deliver that record which is why he is no longer here. Some need to accept that fact and let it go and get behind the new guy. The players and our owner seem pretty sold on the new guy sad that some on here seem to want it not to work out
Hughton delivered PL status for another season - with a squad significant poorer than what Potter has to work with.
