I'll only relax when we're seven points clear with three games to go............................

Get in! Well done Wolves.

The hard earned point against Leicester is starting to look absolutely golden now. That single point has effectively put three teams three results away from us by virtue of our goal difference (assuming we don’t allow ourselves to get caned in the tough matches coming up.

Norwich need five results with seven to play.
Villa need three results with six to play.
Bournemouth and West Ham need three results with seven to play.

I wouldn’t want to rely on it but one more win could well do the job.

Pretty convinced that 1 more win is plenty. Would need 2 of West Ham, Bournemouth and Villa to get 10 points (allowing for GD) in 7 and 6 games respectively. Dont see it personally.

If they sack Smith at this stage they really are showing desperation. Who would go there? Terry will want that job next season when they are back in the Championship.

Could be an act of pure desperation. Sack Smith and put Terry in charge. Shearer being given the reins at Newcastle springs to mind.

Said it before, they are the worst footballing side in the division with two of the most overrated players in the division - Grealish and Mings. Absolutely ****ing dismal.

And they took 4pts from us.

Just imagine how bad it would look for us if we didn't get those 4 points since the restart.

I still can't get over Cardiff taking 6 off us last season.

At least Grealish takes some responsibililty and tries to make things happen. The rest of the Villa team don't seem to want the ball or to do any serious defending. Mings was spectating for the Wolves goal. .

Palace fan in peace here. Just wanted to say well done on last two games. With villa losing today and your vastly superior goal difference that gap is starting to look mighty big. Hopefully another 3-4 points could do it for you guys to be safe. Good luck and see you next season for another series of nail biters. I went to the Selhurst game and you guys were the better team for the majority of the game. I personally wish you well.

I find it amusing that they emulated Fulham's approach from last season. Fulham who got relegated last season :D

My thoughts exactly. Villa spent in the Championship, giving colossal accounting losses of £112m, then another £140m last summer and this January.

I only watched the last ten minutes, but my not so wild guess would be “a lack of protection for Jack Grealish”.

It’s been Smith’s WMD weapon of mass distraction all season.

Apart from one brief moment where a decent shot was blocked and a reasonable shot in the first half, Grealish was largely awful. Just not in the game. Misplaced passes aplenty and falling over aplenty. No surprises. It was great when Traore appeared on the scene as the commentators stopped their revolting fawning over Grealish and concentrated on a very good player who genuinely made a huge difference in the game.

I know, but you'd expect that when given the armband. He's a good player with flashes of brilliance, but when called upon I've seen him frustrate and kick it out of touch far too many times for any player touted to be worth 40M+.

Mings.. yea, not much needs to be said there. Excruciatingly embarassing that he gets in the England squad ahead of Dunk amongst others.
