Just for Edna K…..following last nights comment……(a Newcastle fan)
I'm no expert on this stuff, but this UEFA coefficients page suggests that as things stand 7th could be the second Europa League spot (assuming we don't get a wildcard FA Cup winner). Might need Arsenal to get their act together in the Champions League. If we could knock Roma out of Europa that would damage Italy's standing, and West Ham beating Freiburg would be a good result.Isn't 7th the European Conference spot?

Only if the Carabao cup winners already qualify for europe. If Chelsea win the cup then no.
That article has a lot of focus on "how things stand" and, yes, if you look at the Opta table in that tweet, and the Pts column, Italy and Germany are currently in the top two positions. If everything ended now, England would miss out on an extra spot. This was talked about on TS this past week and I got the impression that we wouldn’t get an extra spot…..this article seems to back that up…. I’ve probably misunderstood the lot
Does 5th place in the Premier League qualify for Champions League? Why Tottenham will miss out on 2024/25 place | Sporting News United Kingdom
Premier League sides have endured mixed results in the 2023/24 Champions League group stages and that could have a knock-on effect on qualification places for next season.www.sportingnews.com
Unless wolves are getting 4 points for a win they could score 100 and still be below us.Surely Sheff U can get something out of this? A draw would be great.
A 9-0 win would put Wolfs above us.

But Opta have projected how things will play out in each competition from here to get xPts - Expected Points - and on those calculations England will pip Germany to second place. They're giving England an 80% chance of finishing in the top two, so they have quite high confidence in their forecast, but it's clearly not certain.
It comes down to how well English and German teams do from here. Next fixtures are...
England
Porto v Arsenal
Manchester City v Copenhagen
Roma v Albion
Sparta Prague v Liverpool
Freiburg v West Ham
Ajax v Aston Villa
Germany
Eindhoven v Dortmund
Bayern Munich v Lazio
Real Madrid v Leipzig
Qarabag v Leverkeusen
Freiburg v West Ham
Ah, crap. I was looking at the table on page 1 of the thread.Unless wolves are getting 4 points for a win they could score 100 and still be below us.

On current form that should be an advantage to Germany.
