Digne straight red for Everton. He basically jumped in from behind, no attempt at the ball, and rode Walker-Peters ankle for a yard (after having had a stab at it 10 yards further back after he was left for dead). Leaves the field waving his arms about, looking all bewildered at the decision. Easiest red you'll see all season.

Footballers really are fvcking DICKHEADS at times.

Redknapp and Dyer - harsh red, just an accident.

I thought the same as you, bit nasty as could have been avoided.

Know it all Jamie Redknapp just went on a rant about “never a red, the game as he’s sees it is ruined“.

Completely ignoring the presenter who pointed out that “intent” for a quite while now, simply doesn’t come into it. His studs on the achilles endangered KWP, with no attempt to get the ball.

Total bobbins from the "expert pundits". Digne had a go at stopping him and missed, then caught up and made damn sure of it. Accident my left bollock. As you say Westy, there was NO attempt at the ball, he was a mile off.

Some of these goons in the studio are absolutely stealing a living.

Stains outclass mega spenders Everton. Great performance from the home team, Hasenhuttl is a very good coach imho.
I am not disagreeing with you, as saints were good. I would also add that on this occasion I think it is also fair to say that Everton were dire-many unforced errors.

We have our work cut out to finish above 16th this season

Wouldn't be unhappy with 16th. I know it won't be seen as progress but with such a young side it will be another year's experience for many of our younger players and we will have the Polish pair next season plus hopefully Zeqiri will be closer for consideration, and who knows Percy Tau might be available.

Still see this season as a work in progress and as long as we can tighten the defence I'm sure we'll stay up this season. I know we all want success 'now' but I for one am already looking forward to next season, due in no large part to the fact we should hopefully be back at the Amex by then. Or am I being overly optimistic?

Even if it was accidental (it wasn't) as we've seen with Bissouma this season it's still a red card. Dangerous play is dangerous play, there doesn't need to be intent. Will be interesting to see if Everton appeal and what the outcome is, hopefully the FA will be consistent as we appealed Bissouma's red but it was upheld, will Everton get the big(ger) club rub if they appeal?

Can't see that being overturned - when the ref and VAR have looked at it, it would make the officials look even more ridiculous if they did.

In fact, I'd be amazed if a red is EVER overturned on appeal after a game now. It would basically be an admission that both the ref and VAR fecked up on the day. Pointless even appealing now.

Reading Everton’s main forum this afternoon, their take is that they started out of the blocks comatose. As well as much hate for Iwobi and Sigurdsson .... “the cancer within our club”.
