Except, other than the Coutinho Amex game, the Albion always give Liverpool plenty of problems, not sure why.

ManC with the £1b spend are the ones who make the most of that colossal financial advantage, routinely swatting aside ‘teams like Brighton’ when they have 11 men. Don’t enjoy those fixtures one bit, I agree with you about the ££££ chasm.

I was speaking about that last night in the concourse. I think that Chelsea and Man City are the two clubs we very rarely play well against nor look like we are in the game. In my reckoning, we have played well against city twice and won once but got 'lucky' with a sending off that was maybe soft and we have played well against Chelsea twice managing two draws.

Fair play to the thousands that stayed as you say, but I wonder how many of those who stayed were tourist types

There is that. Although I think that most of the visible seats at Old Trafford - ie the bottom tier - are season ticket held with the match-by-match tickets mostly being in the 2nd and 3rd tiers.

West Ham going great guns this season both domestically and in Europe. Benchmark for us? Tho sadly our club's ambitions would probably not involve investing in proven goal scorers, many of whom may be insolent enough to demand PL level wages as part of the deal. The CHEEK of it!

West Ham scored one (1) goal today against a team who had conceded 12 in their previous 8 PL games.

Yesterday we scored 1 (one) goal against a team who had conceded 3 in their previous 8 PL games.

Get a grip.

If you can’t afford the World’s best players the next best thing is to watch your team go toe to toe with them. I bloody loved the second half yesterday and yes I do know that City had taken their foot off the pedal but I’d rather lose a few games like that and be as good as 2/3rds of the division than drop to the Championship. As long as we look like we belong in most games I’ll take PL football over winning more games in the lower league.

Sad that any Albion fan can be disappointed with where we are in any way at all imo

100% this. Expected to get tonked, and at HT expected 6 or 7 nil, then really enjoyed the second half and we were the better team for at least half an hour. We had Pep rattled enough to make defensive subsistutions. Anyone who didn’t enjoy that might as well stop going. Love how Potter has no ‘damage limitation’ radar - 3-0 down, **** it, going to attack them. Most of the press reporting is pretty positive about how we responded too.

It’s one of my hatreds of the prem. I want to watch Brighton be in a game of football on a fairly even ish playing field - last night was just not worth watching really. Saturday will prob be the same. The odd time, mainly with no or little fans or some luck you get something but you have 3 with so much more than others - another 4 or 5 with stupid money who are still starting each game with a huge advantage. Soon to add in Newcastle too. ****s me off!

Oh, yes. I still struggle with looking at a 2-0 defeat at a Chelsea or Liverpool and thinking what a decent result it is. Truth is that it is.

Which is why we should be celebrating not being in the 'bottom 6' conversation, for the first time in our Premier League history.

Instead of being so pearl clutchingly needy that 'we' think we're being slighted for being ignored in a 'top 6' conversation.

If anything, I think we are possibly going to be one of least talked about teams this year. No-one thinks we are serious top six candidates, no-one thinks we are going down.

Indeed. And I'm more than happy with that.

My own personal target is for us to finish 12th, because then we will have officially witnessed the greatest team in our entire history.

Agree with this, I can't take Man City seriously and to a slightly lesser extent, Chelsea. I can't believe how quickly City fans went from decent to entitled, I would absolutely hate it if it ever happened at our club.
The Premier league should grow a pair and bring in some proper FFP rules to level the playing field rather than constantly siding with the Monied.

Replacing Grealish with KDB doesn't seem entirely fair.

Next Satuday could be a blood bath if we don't turn up.
If I were GP, I would pick the side, look at who the probable subs would be, swap them with who they were to replace and start the game with that selection, as we always seem to play a better in the second half of games.

If GP took me out for a meal this week to discuss next weekend’s match I would offer him absolutely no advice at all on how to approach the game. I certainly wouldn’t run your suggestion past him either :lolol:
