Last season Crystal Palace had 3 points after 9 games having lost their first 7. As bad as that was, this year Newcastle have only 2 points from 9 games.

On the subject of Palace, I was wondering how they’d amassed as much as 7 points this season and weren’t tracking on last season’s early form. Why are they not in the bottom 3?

We know that the atmosphere in their saddened stadium has collapsed with the renowned HF not getting their way and fans turning on each other and the chairman; with it their home form has vanished but how on earth have they still managed 7 points?

The answer is two fold.

1. They have only managed to score points against the current bottom 3 and have had the good fortune to play all of them in their first 8 fixtures whilst the likes of us and Newcastle have been busily making our way through most of the ‘top 6’. They are awful at home so their only chance of victory against the bottom 3 is in the away fixtures. Pencil in 3 points for them when they visit SJP.

2. They are a one man team. An in form Zaha gives them a chance in most matches (he generally has to score for them to get points) but they clearly lack any semblance of quality beyond him. Should anything happen to Mr Tumble, expect Palace to be in that bottom 3 quicker than you can say ‘blatant dive’.

What's the market value of 10 of today's 11, for palace?

Who are they?

Watching the Everton v Palace game I’m amazed at how open it is and the amount of space that both sides seem to have. It’s quite entertaining.

Quite entertaining so far, just waiting for the diving event to start.

I had to shed a tear at this one :moo:
Johhny Magrinho: Zaha can never win! If he falls over - it’s a dive. If he wins a penalty - it’s a dive. If he gets taken out the game by a hefty challenge - he’s weak. If he speaks out after a game - he’s moaning. Whatever he does there’s always someone there to criticise him!

To be fair Zaha does get the shit kicked out of him a fair bit doesn’t he.

You'd have thought the other 10 palace players would take advantage of Mr Tumble being kicked out of the game.
