It’s an astonishing story and I’d love them to finish above Chelsea, Arsenal and beat Liverpool to the title but they are only a few injuries away from mid table obscurity.

They have about 6 players who are irreplaceable to them. If Wood is injured or that centre back pairing gets split up, they are screwed. Injuries short, if they’d had the same level of injuries as we have, they’d be in a similar position in the table.

That said, Leicester kept their key players fit for their league title so it’s possible.
They have been fortunate with injuries especially to their key players. It all helps build momentum. Its refreshing to see a different team up there. We are probably going to get schooled when we visit in a few weeks time though.

Forests manager will be in hot pursuit. If Spurs decided to get rid of Ange, perhaps they may look at Nuno...oh wait!

Yep. That first half from Chelsea was top quality, like possibly the best performance from any team this season. Yet despite that, Sanchez did one of his dopey brain farts and nearly conceded a leveller by giving the ball away. And that's why they won't win the league.

It's not just sideshow Bob. Of the centre halves, Colwill hasn't been nearly as good as they hoped, Badiashile and Fofana are injured, Chalobah cast out into the wilderness, Adarabioyo isn't top class and Disasi is shit. Of the full backs, Cucurella thinks he's a midfielder, Chilwell has been garbage for a couple of years now but is on such massive wages they can't sell him, and Reece James is made of gossamer and unicorn tears. Malo Gusto is alright.

If it wasn't for Caicedo (who has mostly been excellent this season even if he should have been sent off a couple of times) protecting their defence, they'd be screwed.

They don't really "school" anybody though. That's not their game, which is what makes it all the more surprising that it's still working for them.

They generally concede massive amounts of possession, but have such good defensive shape that opponents lose their minds trying to play round them and eventually run out of ideas, at which point Forest get it forward quickly to their wingers who feed Wood to score. And they then revert back to defensive mode, which is proving supremely effective for them.

Bournemouth recruited annoyingly well when it came to centre halves, I keep noticing. Zabarnyi and Huijsen look like great signings, and Kerkez at full back.

Any one of those would improve our defence. Dammit.

hahahahahahah go on Semenyo

He’s doing exactly what he did at Wolves and I’m surprised no PL manager had clocked it. Once sides started matching up their formation they struggled to win a game. You have to counter them at their own game.

Chelsea crowd getting angsty at their slow play. Shows what happens to a one man team when your one man isn't on it. Eight minutes for Bournemouth to hang on.
