Unbelievable - I've never known a season where so much goes against us in the last few minutes (seconds) of games. Those we are playing and those we are not ! :tantrum:

If you only win 1 home game in a season, it doesn’t matter what the others do ..... your fate is sealed

Home or away it doesn't matter , the points are the same. However, I get where you are coming from. You finish where you finish due mainly to your own performances.

Very troubling result indeed. Make us favourite for the drop now. 6 points an absolute must in the next 2 games. Time for the players to man up and be counted. No excuses now.

This - points in other games are also necessary but these two are the ones we need to win to kick start a fight back and also to jump over Newcastle.

That's a nonsense statement for a whole host of reasons, assuming by "your fate is sealed" you mean relegation. I'll just pick the most obvious two though:

Firstly, despite winning just the one home game, we are not in the bottom three currently. So, if teams continue to accrue points over the remainder of the season as they have thus far, we'll not be relegated.

Secondly, despite winning just the one home game, we don't have the worst home record in the division. That honour currently falls to Sheffield United who have won three home games this season. Draws are better than defeats.

Don't get me wrong - our home form is dire and a large part of being where we are, but one home win this season (to date), has not sealed us to a fate of relegation (yet).

Lots of defeatism here before we've even played when Newcastle didn't even win or deserve to. What did we expect? I was hoping they'd lose but would have taken a draw. A so-so result. Nothing worse.

A draw isn’t a disaster as it means that we can still go ahead of Newcastle if we beat them next week (I realise that is a big if). Villa are really poor without Grealish.

I think Fulham are bound to grind to a halt now.....so maybe both of us and Newcastle can pull away a bit ;)

Meh, about a par result really - if anyone was in doubt that we need 4 points from the next two games, surely even the most optimistic fan will admit any less and we'll be a prime candidate for the drop.

3 points v the geordies and they will be favourites

This season sucks. Will anything go our way? Just how many black cats has Potter run over?

Exactly. Villa are even more of a one-man team than Palace. I was expecting Newcastle to beat them as Sheffield United did, so as far as I'm concerned a draw isn't a bad result for us,

You know, your post made me think " I bet you are a great bloke to have a pint with". I think if you were on the titanic, you would think "ah well there is always the lifeboat" and I expect you would be one of the lucky ones to get a lifeboat too! I hope you are right.

Agreed. I think you could see that in Bruce and Lascelle’s reactions at the end. With their upcoming fixtures, they saw that as a must win game and I was sure they would win it.

2 dropped points for them definitely.

Two of their next 3 are us and Burnley... Last night wasn't a must win for them.
