The drew a blue line on Danjuma, sat on the floor, and the Villa player that receives the ball is clearly stood past it. Given how long it took, I'm not even sure if that's what they gave it for, or they made up some other nonsense about interfering with play?

I was talking about the likes of dummet, Kraft, Ritchie etc. obviously not as good but when players are running on empty you have to use them otherwise there is no point having them. The match I thought they really messed up was against spurs. They should have tried it then to give them a better chance in champs league. As it is they lost both.

They have had lots of injuries but not rotating could be a reason. We played matches without a specialist full back or winger on the pitch.

The best moaning I have heard is spurs saying “we have no choice but to play 4 full backs as no centre backs” while 50 odd cap Dier who has now gone to Bayern Munich is on the bench!

Think Kraft did start to play then got injured? I would always side with playing youngsters in that situation, seems you may as well get something out of the situation and blood youngsters.

But those players you mention are why Newcastle are in the shit, they need to offload players, they haven't bothered

On Dier, he had one foot out the door, didn't suit the style of play, so it made no sense to not play him.

That non-goal VAR nonsense was totally ridiculous. How can it possibly have taken that long to see the chap on the wing was offside - and why on earth did TV keep re showing the ‘goal’ itself and taking about someone potentially blocking the keeper’s vision - total madness!

From the BBC page: "That incident is not going to help what anyone thinks of VAR"

It took way too long, but the simple fact is that the goal was correctly ruled out. For all VAR's fuckups, this one was more of a success than failure.

I thought the blue line popped up?

They normally show a blue line and red line. This time they showed a blue line off Danjuma, but they didn't show a line off Bailey - they didn't need to, he was clearly passed the blue line.

Even before the lines, it was fairly obvious.

Because it’s all subjective. We all had to guess exactly what it was that VAR was looking at.

we’re both very good teams but i always get annoyed watching villa because they’re everything we aren’t. incisive when they go forward, strong in midfield duels, very good at the nitty-gritty, and they have a keeper that bails them out when they do concede chances.

It's not subjective, he was factually offside. The confusion was caused by the TV replays moving passed the actual offside, and making people think they were looking at whether anyone was interfering with play when the shot came in. But that wasn't the case, Bailey was offside before that.

They are also blantent diving, feigning injury and time wasting cheats unlike us.

So it was subjective. Sky had one view on what VAR were looking at. You had another. You were right, they were wrong. On another occasion it will be the other way around. That’s what I was replying about.
