Leeds have scored more goals at Anfield in 30 minutes than we've scored in the last three seasons.

So Leeds, new boys and really having a go at Liverpool, away, scored and deservedly so. What’s our excuse when we go there, for the fourth season, and don’t even have a shot other than “well, it’s Liverpool and you can’t expect to win these games. Losing 5-0 is no disgrace...” blah blah excuse blah.

I can hear it now. And discuss...!

Didn't we have more possession than Liverpool at anfield and play some lovely football (albeit struggling to score, as per)?

On another day, without the mistakes, Leeds would be 3 down already and looking like they'll concede more. Sooo....

Really weird game this. Both teams look dreadful at the back. Leeds look good with their tempo and closing down but their final ball hasn't been too impressive. Hard to work out how good these 2 teams are from this so far.
I'm predicting Leeds will run out of steam 8n the 2nd half if they keep playing at this tempo and Liverpool will take over.

That’s what I’m expecting too - it’s hard to chase for that long.

In my PL predictions on NSC I have Leeds staying up. Possibly the only NSC’er who thought so, everyone else making the Ben White saga an added reason to hope for their demise.

This is a pre season'esk goal comedy of defensive errors. I don't see Leeds being able to play this speed for 90 mins.

I disagree. The defences are awful, including the much over rated VVD

I love watching games like this when I want both teams to lose.

Very poor quality game so far. As you say, some shocking defending but can't agree that VVD is overrated though.

This is so similar to the season opener in 2019, a wide open game, Pukki repeatedly in behind Liverpool’s defence. NSC was gushing with admiration for Norwich and predicted a great season for Pukki.

This might put the Sky circle jerk of Leeds into context. Yes they have had a go but these are the current stats - and one of those shots/goals was a gift.

If it's not fast as they are used to, and they are as fit as you say, they should be all over Liverpool at 90 mins. We only have to wait 45 mins to find out

Opening games aren't much of an indication imo for new teams in the Prem especially. The same kind of buzz as a cup game. Let's see how they get on with their high press and energy etc as the season wears on

nah, just saying this is the tempo (or better) bielsa has his teams play. no more no less, we're a team of fairly ok championship players who can run solidly for 90 mins which was to our advantage against both poor quality teams and less fit ones last year. fully expect us to be found out this season.

NSC doesn’t do stats.

Instead revelling in the non stop sprinting of the Leeds players.

Leeds doing well. Interested to see if the can actually keep the intensity going for the full 90. Impressed that they are taking the game to Liverpool and don’t look overawed at all

Exactly. Liverpool ran away with the league, Norwich were a car crash.

Today we’ve learnt that Leeds work rate is excellent, they have a bad defence and push loads of players up in attack.
