How do you reckon Potter would feel just now? Gutted and depressed by wins for Watford, Stains and Villa?

My guess is that he would be completely unaffected. Instead, very positive about a very useful 4 points and planning the next win.

It’s only 1st January, and that’s how I see it. Already 24 points under through a new coach and new tactics. Going rather well.

Yep, we need to shake off this attitude that we are relying on other teams failing to enable us to survive. We can do this without help this season.

Not the best results. Relegation battle might get crazy this year. 40 pts possibly not enough.

Always happy to see Mourinho losing though.

I didn't want a Norwich win if the Albion lost today.

Now I'm more than happy for them to give palace a good shoeing even if that puts us just 8 points ahead of the bottom team.

7 very winnable games in a row now ,taking us to the end of feb. Win 3, draw won, lose 3 puts us on 35 points.

Bournemouth will be getting very worried if they can't secure points in their next few fixtures against the teams at the foot of the table. I'm also not convinced Moyes will be able to rescue West Ham a second time, as there is better strength across the whole division the time around.

40 points might be the bare minimum to secure safety and we will probably be in the mix, but even with Watford and Southampton on the move, Burnley and Newcastle could yet well stutter. It's quite possible that there will be as many as 6-8 clubs still nervous by April.

I'm loving this season. So entertaining.

Draws at Wet Sham and Norwich please. Wouldn't mind a Norwich win, but definitely don't want West Ham or B'muff to get three points.

And United, please give Arsenal a good tonking and move us up to 13th. Cheers.

Let’s worry about others come March/April.

Potter’s project must shirley be ahead of schedule, by even the gloomiest outlook.

My wife often comments on the “screeching women” annoying her on Final score
