Predictions final placings season 17/18

I think we will start strongly and maybe some shock wins. Second half of the season more difficult needing results against Man U at home and Liverpool away in May to stay up.

This is my take on it.

Basically there's the top six and then a mini-league of 14 teams. Some of the teams might be a slight cut above the others (Everton, possibly Southampton), but the rest are much of a muchness. I don't think there will be a lot of difference between us and, say, Burnley or Swansea or Huddersfiled or Watford. We can compete with those teams.

If we assume we'll get a bit fat ZERO from all our 12 matches against the top six, then we will just have to make sure we get our fair share of points from the other games. I'm sure we have the ability to finish half-way up the League of Fourteen*

*(....as long as we buy a half-decent striker!).

I agree that there's now a top 7, simply based on wages / fees expenditure.

An unfashionable view, but I think some of the other 13 are signifcantly better than the rest. I really cannot see Stains, Bournemouth and Leicester being anywhere near the relegation herd. Those three clubs are spending increasingly huge sums in fees and wages, giving them a huge advantage.

More gut feeling than anything. I can just see Huddersfield doing a 'great escape' right at the death. I don't think there's much difference in quality between the bottom 13 teams really but feel we may fall short.

Well, it would be different.

No idea to be honest. I can see City challenging for the title now they have focused on their defence and if they can get a good season out of the likes of Kompany.

As for us? Right now, it's not looking good, but we'll see. I'm expecting 2 more arrivals. After that I'll have an idea in my mind as to whether we'll survive.
