If the Tories do a deal with anyone, though, the SNP will combine with other parties to vote down the Queen' s Speech and either a fresh election will be called or the Labour - Lib Dem coalition will take over.

I wonder what happens if the same result is passed in the second election ?

The segment of voters that could swing it are the predicted 13% UKIP. How many of these voters are former Tories? and those that are and live in a key marginal could go back to the Tory party. One the subject of the Scottish seats could Scottish Tories vote Labour in an attempt to defeat the SNP. It is quite conceivable that they may see the break up of the Union as a more important issue and want to defeat the SNP at any cost.
Oh well it will all come out in the wash! a sort of bluish, redish greyish with a tint of orange if the polls are correct!!

Labour take most seats but just to show its all irrelevant the Lib Dems and Conservatives maintain their coalition government and it all carries on as before

Not been watching channel 4 news at 7 Giraffe?

They reported that senior Trade Union figures have told them they are urging Milliband (even if Labour get less seats) to strike immediately and offer the Lib Dems, a change of voting system, and to do a deal with them that will trump any attempts the Tories may make to try and build a coalition.

And certain NSCers have been fulminating about Press Barons deciding who gets to run the country, how nostalgic that it will be Union Barons doing it instead.........

Tories to win the most seats, just, and the most votes too.

It will be vey close though, as I don't see Labour being quite as decimated in Scotland as the polls predict.

The numbers in England depend on what happens with the UKIP vote in the marginals. Will UKIP voters go back to voting Tory as they know that is the only way to get a referendum on the EU, and that voting UKIP will possibly mean Miliband as PM?

Will the Tories have enough seats to get together with the Lib Dems and the Unionists to get a majority? Maybe, maybe not. I don't think Labour plus the Lib Dems plus Plaid will be enough, and Ed has said he won't be propped up by the SNP.

Interesting times.....

I think the Conservatives will get the largest number of votes, but Labour will get, by only a couple, the largest number of MPs.

Then Labour and the Lib Dems will form a minority coalition and pretty much dare the SNP to vote them down. The SNP will ensure that they stay in power for a few years with little influence on policy - until they get fed up with doing that and things might become more interesting.
