Predict the end of season table

This is mine, after a quick browse of the fixture list, and taking form into consideration;

Southampton - I can't see them blowing it really)
West Ham - begrudgingly, just because their point lead and Reading's fixtures
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Reading - toughest run-in, but have built a decent cushion of points
Birmingham - Goal difference good, April 21 Amex game should be a corker
Brighton & Hove Albion. It looks very likely for us now
Blackpool - their toughest fixtures are mostly home games for them
_________________________________________________________________

Cardiff - Very close but no cigar
Middlesborough - tough fixtures, will drop points

My predicition is that we'll just lose in the first round of the playoffs.
This of course will ignite heated discussion about misssed chances, Gus tactics, dropped points over the season, ref decisions, players who 'cost us', tempered by players who earned us, opposition cheated, ref was correct, tactics were a gamble that could have paid off, and 1st AmEx season an amazing ride and success.

So difficult and quite possible that there will only be 1 or 2 points separating 4 or 5 teams. They'll be more upsets to come and each of the contenders have a few 6 pointers to play and there's a good argument for putting any of the current top 9 into the final 6. As for top 3 difficult to call between WHam, Reading and Southampton but think it's 2 of those 3

CAn't be arsed to work out points, but clearly Saints, WH and Reading have sewn up the 2 automatic places between them. Whilst we're in good form, I fear out run-in might see us just miss out on play-offs, and if we do make it, there will be some big clubs in there. I figured we'd be mid-table, so I'm happy anyway.

If somehow we made it up, I fear we'd have to spend an awful lot just not to get spanked week-in, week-out - but would love to be proved wrong.

Good work on the spreadsheet. I predict we will get 74 points which may be enough to get us in to the play-offs.

From my guestimates, I make it :

Southampton 89
West Ham 89
=============
Reading 87
Birmingham 79
'Boro 78
Cardiff 77
=============
Brighton 76
Hull 75
Leeds 73
Blackpool 72

But it's so close and there's so little margin of error. I also don't rule out Leeds making a late run - there's always one team from outside contention who forces themselves in at this time of the season, and they're perfectly placed for that.

Reading to get promoted via playoffs.

Nah, never gonna happen. If it does, then the universe will spontaneously combust.

Seriously, though, the team that finishes third and just misses out on automatic almost always crashes and burns in the play-offs, especially if they were way ahead of the 4th placed team. The psychology is all wrong to succeed after such a massive disappointment - momentum and confidence are vital to get through the play-offs.

Hopefully for the first time in 27 years, we are going to finish above that shower up the A23. About bloody time. And that even after gifting them four points, without the Amex September debacle we would have been in a different stratosphere. Notice they haven't been giving it the 'We are the teachers, watch and learn Brighton' so much of late. Funny that.

Top three seem certs, but order uncertain.
Also-rans seem rather evenly matched.
I think Albion have a very good chance of being 4th - who’d dare think that , two season ago!
