France 0 Uruguay 1

This.
I think Uruguay will beat france, and have money on them to win the group and that game as a Uruguay win in an accumalator. Forlan and Suarez are good players upfront, and France are a mess. Uruguay imo will get a point at least against Mexico, which will leave them with 2nd place (Probably Nigeria or Greece), and could well find themselves in the quarters.

If Australia beat Germany then we will NEVER here the end of it here, how great that would be. It might be just what we need to get everyone to sit up and take notice of the world game in the midst of the AFL and NRL seasons as all I'm hearing here is moaning about "those cheating Italians" from the last tournament myself.
I'd love to be wrong but I can't see it, The Socceroos have lost their way without Viduka and not progressed as I'd hoped. They tend too often now to just lump it up to beanpole Josh Kennedy and blag a late 1-0, as in the dreadful warm up game with Denmark the other day, rather than have Viduka hold it up and bring in Kewell or Aloisi (also retired). Australia's best threat now is Cahill at set pieces, if the delivery is good enough, IMHO.

Portugal not to get out their group and Ivory Coast to make the final.
Oscar Cardozo to get the golden boot.

We do play defensive so our goals will almost always come from the midfield.

Just can't seem to find a decent striker within our ranks.

Fortunately that's probably our strength with Cahill, Kewell Emerton etc.

I'd like to think Germany might fail to get out of their group because the group is wide open and Germany are fairly weak by their standards. However, I think they have just enough to qualify.

If I had to make one, it would be this:
Ivory Coast to top Group G, above Brazil and Portugal.

Got any of your own?
Drogba out with a fractured elbow. So this aint happening.

The Dutch squad coming together as a true band of brothers, all uniting and setting aside all personal differences for the common cause.

(actually I am getting quite nervous about the LACK of any sign of strife emenating from the Low Countries these days, godverdamme)

EDIT: my Dutch colleague tells me that a) they're already arguing about who's going to take the free kicks and that b) the manager's a wimp. Promising.

Serbia to get to the Semis and lose but win the 3rd place play off.

My big tip for this tournament is Marko Pantelic. He is a brilliant striker and I reckon he will shine in this tournament and propel Serbia a lot further than people think they will go.

No way the Germans will fail to get through, even if it is just behind Serbia. However shit they may look on paper (and Lahm, Schweinsteiger, etc are hardly that) they always turn up for the big tournaments.

If we had half their mental strength to go with our natural ability we'd be at least semi-finalists every time.

I've never really understood what this mental strength arguement means. No one has ever really properly explained it to me. Can anyone have a go on here?
