Since "light confusion" isn't an option I haven't voted yet but will do as we get closer...

Its hard for me to get hyped up when I have 0 idea who will be playing and where. Makes it difficult to visualise the Everton game and build hype for it. But I think after the Villarreal game, the mojo will rise.

QPR created one good chance all game and Steele didn't have to make a save. The chance in the first half was yards offside - good defending.
QPR attacker received the ball on the right side of the box , ran across one of our defenders and from 12 yards out hit the ball high and wide , should of scored

8 for me. I think this could be an exciting season. I like the new manager, I like the freshness of his ideas, the signings so far have been promising and we still have players to come back.

Realistically we are looking anywhere between 12-8th in the league, and I think the football will be fun to watch. The preseason has been disjointed due to players on Euros duty, injuries and departures but if we can show some patience I am confident Hurzeler will get something out of this squad.

As always my glass remains half-full and I am looking forward to the next pint!

Its likely for Everton the team will be

Steele
Veltman Dunk JPVH Barco
Baleba Wieffer
Minteh Enciso/Pedro Mitoma
Welbeck

with a bench looking like Hinshelwood, Adingra, Webster, Sarmiento, Ayari, ACD, Igor, Milner, Rushworth

with possibly 2-3 more signings to come.

The idea that its going to be some random 11 doesn't hold up.
That looks a terrific starting 11 to me. Im not sure it will look like that though and i say that because i havent seen Baleba in midfield in one preseason game yet.

I've put down 5 for now, but the true poll will be once the Window shuts. I can see quite a bit of Business (both in and out) still to happen so the landscape of who will be here and where they'll play is still very much up in the air.

Brighton
bring me Ferdi, O'Riley and Gruda and I'll be a solid entitled 7 out of ten.

Without I will be an entitled 3.

Where is it?

Mine is down to 5 currently, from a 9 not long ago. Potentially losing two of my favourite players in WBG and Facundo being the main reason. I get they may not suit FH’s style and tactics though.

Our early season games look very tough for a new manager and change in tactics.

Facundo? What have I missed?

7 - everything seems more positive however fuming I’m missing the first game of the season due to a diary clash, bloody birthdays.

Hoping it at least goes to the exchange

8.5, can’t wait. No idea whether we’ll do ok or not at this stage until we understand what the final squad looks like, but think it’s going to be an enjoyable ride. Surprised at the latent negativity running through this thread to be honest.
100% this. We've got a potentially excellent new coach, had a superb start to the transfer window and injured players are mostly nearly ready to return. So much to look forward to, but looking at this thread you'd think we were staring relegation in the face. Pfft. 8.5.

nowhere near Burgess Hill
6 and rising looking forward to it but always nervous with a new manager and such a change to our centre. Very excited with the signings and I think more to come.

No idea what’s going to happen this season. We’ve got some exciting attackers, an as yet unproven midfield and a defence that can be a bit fallible but probably won’t be as exposed as last season. Worth remembering early on how tough Bournemouth found it to learn the ropes when Iraola arrived initially - and how good they became with a bit of patience.

7 - cautiously optimistic.
we have only been in pre-season friendlies so far, a lot of players have not been around much because of extended international duties, and we seem still to be recruiting.
