You know that last pre season game at the AMEX when we play a sort of Spanish version of West Ham.
Great if we could have an away game instead for just one pre season.
Big stadium
Reasonably accessible for many.
Affordable
Overnight stop.
Good city square etc.
Any venues ? eg I would like LYON.
60k stadium.
Milan ? Germany? Glasgow?
Put it out early, who knows, PB may oblige if possible.

60k stadium? I assume you have some kind of environmental protest planned what with all the empty, unused plastic seats on display.

Why bother with the Spanish version of West Ham when we could be playing the real thing.

I think the European teams with 60k plus stadiums will want a bigger draw than us to be honest

Maybe a lower echelon Ligue 1 team (Le Havre again, for example) or a decent Bundesliga 2 team (eg Kaiserslautern, still a big stadium) is more plausible. It would be a great crack, but not sure if there's a much broader appeal amongst our fanbase

Be a good summer to have part of the pre-season in Germany with a friendly against St Pauli in Hamburg.

Surely we will be in Germany this coming pre season.

Dortmund, St Pauli plus another, that would be an awesome trip

Or qualify for Europe and get 4 games minimum.
Seriously though, if we struggle to sell out a top team at home in a friendly, how many would really spend say £500 to visit somewhere in Germany for a game. Even Lille would cost minimum £300 for a day trip.
