Very positive first half. Biss having a really good game, Lallana looks quality but has nothing to aim at in the final third, White looks comfortable on the ball and seemingly likes to come forward with it, Alzate is not a RWB, Ryan playing like another center half he's so far out of goal.

The Elephant in the room is clear and present - nothing up top. We appear about as toothless as an Old folk's home.

pre-season so obviously no severe worries, but it has looked like the same old story for us so far today. lots of nice possession but no cutting edge, very laboured up front, opposition much more incisive and generating the better chances. maupay looked anonymous at times, someone more imposing definitely needed to compliment his strengths. that said, some lovely football being played

Every pundit, every prediction is saying the same thing- we lack a cutting edge. We've all been saying the same thing for years- we lack a cutting edge.
I know it's pre-season but it's clear we still haven't found a solution to the problem. We must, must, MUST get at least one striker in before the season. It might not work, they might be another Joelinton, but we have to at least try! We're so, so close.

They looked more dangerous in that final 5mins than we did in the other 40. We look more than comfortable up to the final third and then the wheels come off.
