Keep the Lewes friendly deffo and, in solidarity with those clubs currently going through their own hardships, away to Charlton, Coventry and Orient. Oh and Lincoln because that was a cracking day out.
When Bournemouth played Real Madrid at Dean Court a few years ago (before they'd been promoted), Madrid played a full team, including Ronaldo - but they charged Bournemouth around £1m for an appearance fee. Obviously we've long known money is no object there, so of course they stumped it up. But the tickets were £30-£60, for a friendly. And they'd still have made a massive loss on it.
I sincerely doubt Bloom would be as stupid to pay through the nose for such an appearance fee, or to rip off the fans to se them, but they absolutely lapped it up down there. Lost 6-0.
Given that this is the 20th anniversary of Fans United, it would be good to see us have a friendly against one of the lower league sides that supported us in our hour of need. A friendly against a team like Plymouth Argyle might be quite apt.
For the first season in 34 years, we will be playing every team in the top flight, so lets play one of the clubs in the lower leagues that supported us during our hard times as a way of saying thank you.
