He has let himself down once this season. When Forest was moved for tele (at short notice) a number of Albion fans had already purchased train tickets. He could have offered to refund them the money. Small gesture, would have cost bugger all to the club but hearts and minds and all that.

Why, its a chance that advance ticket purchase buyers take. They are not some sort of extra super fan just because they travel by train. Barber and the club did the right thing.

Why has he let himself down? It wasn't the club that decided to move the fixture date - it was Sky, and of course the Football League.

Inconvenient as it was to a lot of fans to have the date moved, through having booked train tickets and maybe hotel accommodation, the practical side of reimbursement would be an administrative nightmare. For, example checking that fans have purchased match tickets then having to process and check the relevant travel costs and all that that entails.

So assuming that reimbursement goes ahead, despite the aforementioned problems, you have then set a precedent for all future matches whose fixture dates/times are changed. Where does it end? Do the club then try and seek compensation off the television companies and the Football League to cover these costs?

Realistically it's a complete no-no. Having said that, an equally noble and less impractical solution would be to offer those affected fans vouchers that can be used " in house " at the club shop or at the catering kiosks within the Amex.

Worthing
It cost me about £100, hotel etc, but I knew the score, and with a bit of re-jigging I was able to go to the re-arranged fixture.
If,and it's a big if, we do go up this season, we won't be on the telly as much as this season,so it shouldn't be as much of a problem
