Anyone been? Off there on a stag do in a few weeks, I think we are staying by a square of some kind. What's good, what's bad, is it strict regarding alcohol/drugs/noise etc? Is it cheap/expensive? Really would appreciate some input as I have no idea! Thanks

Stunning... Old Town/Charles Bridge/Jewish Quarter. Great beer/vodka/bohemian champers... Really good clubs and jazz bars.. slightly scary absinthe temptations - what's not to like?

Our bar is more for Ukrainians...pretty girls but as you will be new, you wont be able to figure out the ones with the big boyfriends etc...youre welcome to check it out..let me know and ill make sure you dont have to pay on the door.

Same with the girls etc...if you got to Darlings, its worth it just to see the place... but it wont be that cheap.

Ive never been in the five story place, but ive found that you will be mostly with other tourists...
Lucerna just off Wenceslas sq does the bang standard 80s 90s music and thats a big place in the center, where it will be mostly normal Czech girls...a lot of beautiful girls at that in normal surroundings..
Behind Tyn Church on the old town square...if you walk down the left hand side of it from the square and just keep going straight, you will hit Chapeau Rouge...thats a healthy mix of expats and czechs...theres lots of American students here at Charles university, and a lot go there...not huge, bar upstairs, club downstairs, and another level down theres a small concert area...always packed...easy to find grass in there.
Different music so look it up on the net for the listings..
Drum and Bass is on quite often at Cross Club....very unusual place, where I manage to bang my fecking head on something or other every time im in there.
Akropolis in zizkov is right near...probably a couple of hundred yards away from the tv tower which is difficult to miss...lots of indy stuff there...Zizkov has most of the smoking bars...
In the old town, theres a whole heap of bars where tourists can mix with local girls...bombay, harleys, theres a bunch of places on Dlouha....
Radost for R&B...not many tourists...
I think the best place is LeClan...a place thats difficult to describe really...you would pass it if you didnt know of the place without noticing, but its after party club that starts to get going around 5...seems to be mostly soulful house on the top floor, different downstairs....lots of the dancers from the clubs go here..and its the only place in the world where ive seen people openly do cocaine. The glass tables were a clue I guess.
Very cool place though I think...100kc to get in...

Its a very safe city, ..you may get overcharged in places, so check your bills...its not uncommon...
Pickpockets....proper Cinti Roma gypsies here, and they are very good and are in obvious tourist areas or where theres crowds..
If any young dark haired girl comes up to you in the street offering you sex, dont even think about it...she will be rubbing you etc
whilst her other hand is lifting your money...ive almost been in fights shouting at English tourists who are being robbed like this..
Just be aware.
Other than that its a great place, but like I say...when you want to eat....take a tram out of the center for 3 or 4 stops, and the prices will

Theres 28 kc to a pound and a large beer is between 25 and 55 depending on where you are....the cheap things here are food and drink.....

He aint kidding about the gypsy girls, my mate got off lightly when the barman at our hotel recognised her and threw her out after he strolled in looking like the cat with the cream, soon turned sour when he lost his chance of an easy bunkup.

Ran the Prague marathon last May & stayed a few days in the city centre.
Thought the night life & evening entertainment wasn't as lively as Brighton on a Saturday night, but the beer is great.
The locals are still in an Eastern Europe timewarp when it comes to customer service & friendliness!
The number one attraction is the Jewish ghetto. Go early in the day as the queues build up & would recommend a ticket for all the sites.
The castle on the hill is a worthy visit & the tower in the park. Walked up this the day after the marathon!

on your day outs, make sure you look after your phone and wallet!
the girls will grab your balls and the other one will nick your phone or wallet,best still,empty your wallet except the czech money and driving liscence,have a fabulous time, and advice all your mates about pickpockets!

I seem to remember Prague is all squares !
Take the missus on a boat trip - reasonably priced and a good couple of hours spent. They are all based near central town and funnily enough near the river ! (if you get away with it Sparta Pragues ground is quite interesting)
