Government have wasted £9.9 billion on PPE

https://goodlawproject.org/news/ppe...ign=10bn waste 010222&utm_medium=social media

£673 million on PPE “not suitable for any use”
£2,581 million on PPE “not suitable for use in the NHS”
£4.7 billion paying inflated pandemic prices for PPE we didn’t need to buy
£750 million buying PPE which will pass its expiry date before we can use it.

The one thing you can say over and over again about this corrupt and incompetent cabal we have running the show, they are very good are spending other peoples money

Even more scarily, that’s little more than a month’s interest on the national debt

More proof that they are not a Government more like the most successful organised crime syndicate in British history.

Little old ladies in Wigan couldn't give a shit about Tories giving contracts to their mates and scamming millions to their mates. They love Boris Johnson coz he's thick as shite like them so they vote for him because they think they are equals.

I am past caring on all the sleazy stuff. People get what they deserve by voting for these people.

He's not think as shite though, is he? He got a 2:1 BA degree in Classics at Oxford and didn't work too hard for it. He was well pissed off that he didn't get a First. If he was genuinely as thick as shite he wouldn't have got anywhere near where he is now. He is very obviously completely without morals and totally focussed on himself but he's not thick.

I posted this on here during the early stages of the pandemic somewhere - but I have a relative who was moved from her 'central' NHS role onto the procurement task force. In 4 months of doing so - out of all the established / known PPE suppliers + others offering to help / supply - she only managed to get 1 deal approved / through in that time because the government had taken over / were overseeing the procurement of PPE. And now we know why.... rather than letting those that know get on with it, they helped out their mates and spunked billions on shit. Again.

Amazing how that magic money tree always seems to produce a bumper harvest when our tax dollar can be funnelled into private enterprise

It’s frustrating that this particular rag was spouting stories, prior to the election, that Corbyn would be wasting this level of public money. But instead, it’s their man Boris the Liar running our economy into the ground. ****ish doesn’t cover it (the PM & the paper).

Well yes, but some of that money might have filtered it's way down to the poorest and most vulnerable members of our society - which, if you believe Murdoch/Rothermere/GBeebies, basically means you can't wait to move into your nearest gulag

but its the same with all public spending procurement and always has been. See all Hospitals, Military and Roads. Look at all Public owned industries ever.
The civil service understanding of value is as rubbish as is the top peoples understanding of fair process.

Having a degree means very little.

In a previous role I managed staff who were straight out of the best universities with top degrees but they didn't know how to write a letter or how to deal with people on the telephone or face to face and generally had little common sense.

Johnson was sacked by Michael Howard for lying. He was sacked from another role for having a secret affair. He ran and hid in a fridge to avoid difficult questions.

In 2019 his former boss Max Hastings said:

"We can’t predict what a Johnson government will do, because its prospective leader has not got around to thinking about this. But his premiership will almost certainly reveal a contempt for rules, precedent, order and stability."

If Johnson wasn't so dangerous we would probably describe him affectionately as "daft as a brush". If you think attending parties in his own home whilst the country was locked down and whilst No 10 was under intense media scrutiny makes him a smart fella, well, you are entitled to your opinion!

So many stories of approved NHS vendors with a history of supplying PPE that couldn't even get a telephone call or email returned

Instead we had companies with minimal net worth and in unrelated businesses landing contracts of tens of millions.

At best negligent, at worse corrupt

The whole thing stinks. Using the smokescreen of the pandemic to award uncontested contracts when well known suppliers were ignored. I cant see beyond contracts for mates! Meanwhile our taxes are raised to pay for it!!!

and there were still 30 people on that other thread that would vote for them

Can you just imagine this story if Labour had spaffed this money of dough up the wall. The Murdochs, Rothermere's and Barclays would be running it for weeks
