poyet has rarely said too much about the brighton fans, in fact, he has been pissed off with them a few times.

on sunday if everyone hammers suarez, one of poyets mates, i feel this wont do poyets long term chances of wanting to stick around any good.

have a think before you slag off suarez sunday lucky ticket holders.

Do you really think Gus will complain like a 'cry baby' if a few Albion fans booed Suarez?

Suarez is a nasty little cheat, and I've no doubt that over the course of 90 minutes, he will afford me many opportunities to deservedly boo him.

I will not be getting involved in any booing / chants based on the racism thing though. I'm BORED of the whole thing.

Gus has said, words to the effect of:-

'We've sold out the ground, I don't have to please the fans'.

Has he ?????
Oh yes, as the season started, he was asked about the fans, and that was his response.
In fairness his behaviour to us, does see that through.

Most recently the post match interview re Burnley.
Gus was the only person not to go OTT about us.

I just dont care one jot about any of this. Sure it will be a great day out but in my eyes that is all it is. Some people are going a little Talksport and trying to find a major coup in any story - however irrelevant, facile or banal.

Didn't want to quote anyone on this again but please. Suarez was not banned for any racist comments, fact. In South America "Negrito or Negrao" are both acceptable terms, such as "Mate or Mucker".
My South american wife and children will tell you the same thing.
As to not shaking his hand, he lied to the club, Kenny and his teamates which is why he will be sold in the summer. Time to move on, nothing more to see.

Well said.

I would have thought that true Albion fans would be more concerned about getting behind the team. For once it would be great to support the stripes rather than get up tight about the opponents.

The players DESERVE support, think of what we have achieved this season to date.

Burnley was fantastic and we all wanked ourselves off about the atmosphere, but look at it through his eyes, we lost, we had two players sent off and suspended for three matches.

Take your point but still would it have been so hard to give the crowd a mention as collectively we all made a big effort to get behind the team?

As refreshing as it is to have a manager who doesn’t panda to the fans, every now and then it would be good to hear some praise from Gus that isn’t squeezed out of him by the postmatch interviewer. He found it easy enough to praise the Leeds fans in his interview the other day.

Exactly.

I'm not slagging Gus.
As he said he doesn't have to please the fans, we've already brought our tickets.

He was specifically asked about the fans, as was everyone else interviewed in the tunnel.
But he was the only person not to acknowledge us.

Therefore Poyet's relationship with the fans about Suarez or anything else, really doesn't come into it.

I thought one of the things he was supposed to have said was along lines of "I don't speak to blacks"? That seems just a tad racist to me.

In South America, the same as saying "I'm not speaking to you mate". Anyway, let sleeping dogs lie.

Surely this part of his interview is pretty clear. "The fans were also magnificent as they really tried to help the players. I just wish we could have sent them home with the point we deserved. I'd like to wish all fans a very Merry Christmas with their families, and I hope they can forget about referees."

Well not really. More like saying (if you accept your translation literally) "I don't speak to mates." Which obviously doesn't work. I agree, let sleeping dogs lie but perhaps you need to accept that Suarez WAS in the wrong, however much you detest Man United and/or love your club.

Fair enough.
I remember listening to the radio, on the way home, and thinking:-
'Blimey Gus, give us something'!.

calling someone a negrito IN LATIN AMERICAN CULTURE is not rascist
That depends on the context, just like calling someone black here. If a white person here says 'I hate pasty skin, I prefer black girls', that's not racist, but if you were to say '**** off home black boy', that would obviously be racist. I somehow doubt that Suarez was paying Evra a compliment.

I think the Suarez/Evra incident was 6 of one & half a dozen of the other as Evra started the abuse about Suarez' sister. As has been said, let sleeping dogs lie. Suarez apologised yesterday for not shaking Evra's hand so who are we to rake up old cold coals?

hmmm that's what people (like Gus) were supposing he might have said, but the report eventually said different if my memory is correct.
