Billy Paynter? A Sunday Times journo is saying we've offered 150k rising to 250k but Leeds want more

Leeds did get him on a Bosman so may want to recoup the signing on fee , I reckon they are holding out for £300k plus sell on.

Paynter would be a real let down.

All the signs are pointing towards Paynter.

A little disappointing, but clearly he has talent in there, he proved so at Swindon. If anyone can get him to regain his form its Gus.

If it's Paynter, don't think that's disappointing at all. He'll provide what we need, on the bench or against particular teams. Our first choice pairing is still probably CMS and Hoskins, and Barnes is obviously in great form. We don't need a superstar, just a particular type of player.

I'd love boyd and Rhodes still. Vicente would be amazing IF he stays fit. Paynter I'm not sure about at all. I reckon Poyet will get a centre back in on loan only IF Adam or tommy have a setback in their recovery.

Agree with this.

Something different, and plenty of games coming up.

i believe Stich does no his stuff, but how!! i am always intrigued!! inside knowledge? work there?

No offence to Stich at all as all info is greatly received, but is everyone just reffering to the CMS thing? He said he'd been working there and spotted 'a player' who we later found out was CMS? Has Stich said other things that have turned out correct?

What i don't get is, why would we be bidding for Paynter now(as reports suggest)? All along Poyet has suggested this deal has been all but done for a few days, so why would it be him? I think it could be someone completely surprising.
