I'm driving past there tomorrow. I can give Poyet & co a lift up and bring back the £2.5 million compensation on Thursday if that helps speed things up.

Everton will do well if they get Martinez, very accomplished manager

Sorry, am I missing something with the GP to Wigan chat? He would only go to a 'special' club. He wants to manage in the Premier League. Wigan aren't in the PL.

If he wanted to go to a club looking for promotion out of the Championship and a chairman that will back him then, er, oh, it doesn't matter.

Good luck to him, wherever he goes...

We all assume that, but based on what ? A cup win ? That's not contradicting you, just curious. I was listening last week that Paul Jewel and Steve Bruce had better records at Wigan that he did/does. He's certainly been openly trying to get away from Wigan for quite a while.

He said he would only leave us for a 'special' club. Times have changed, he won't be here next season, and I think he will now hitch up the Gus Bus to any club that he thinks will get him a better shot of getting in the Premier League and then the Chelsea or Spurs jobs that he craves.

Martinez is very average. The myth of 'playing good football' is incorrect too.

Gus wouldn't last a fortnight with Dave Whelan at Wigan. The moment he had a sulk or moan about the budget or his situation he would be at loggerheads with the club owner.

I would laugh if Gus went to Wigan, I cannot imagine as he started his media crusade for a Premiership job that somewhere like Wigan ever entered his mind. Yes they may well have money, yes it seems they also have a good chairman, and yes he might do well there BUT after talking about Chelsea, Spurs and Leeds ad infinitum, he's going to end up with a small club. Yep I'd have to laugh. I hope they'd be as tolerant with his bigging himself up on Sky sport at every opportunity as TB has been, cos he ain't gonna be able to help himself.

PLEASE take him off our hands Wigan

Poyet to wigan. As everyone says not the big job he has been touting himself for. More of a stepping stone to his wish than brighton.. not sure about that

OK this is pure speculation.. S P E C U L A T I O N

but.... what if no announcement is being made by the club because they have agreed to have an outwardly amicable split with Gus and his team when they join another club and this has been held up by the management merry go round. Now Martinez has gone we will hear Poyet and co have joined Wigan or another club along the same management chain ?

as I said.... speculation.
