Gus was lucky to be given the chance in the first place, but he's overachieved ever since.

What a load of bollocks , we didn't get back to back promotions AND we were big spenders compared to other clubs. The £200,000 + that we spent on Maybank was ,at the time, a massive amount for a 2nd division side to fork out. Add to that the money spent on Lawrenson, Sayer, Ryan ect you could say we chucked money around.

People seem to be under the impression that I'm not a Brighton fan, but I've been going to games regularly since I was about 9!

Thanks for the kind words. It was a bit tongue-in-cheek, and I felt when I was writing it that it was a bit condescending towards the old Brighton sides and lower league football in general, but thought it would make for a more enjoyable article, certainly for the neutral. Thanks for the feedback.

It's all relative though. In Mullery's day wages were peanuts and tranfer fees the same.

I'm 100% convinced that poyet won't be manager when
We get promoted to PL
I believe that come the end of this season when we miss the play offs
Bloom and poyet will part company
The next manager will be the one to secure promotion
And I believe it will be Chris Hughton
