I doubt Gus had little idea they were to ask of his situation. Just must be difficult to come back with virtually no answers when he's an undoubted gossiper and perhaps wants to give his side of the story, as perhaps the club want to too. I hope bad spirits from both sides are put to bed and a new era is started with all former parties being allowed to cherish the beautiful times just gone.

Over there
Gary Lineker Just re tweeted this from a Brighton fan
@billywilliams93: @GaryLineker You've just found out more about the Poyet situation in 30 seconds than the club have told us in over a month, thanks. #bhafc

Stunned Lineker asked the question. For me, the interesting thing was that Gus made no attempt to say he and the club have tried or are going to work things out. He's right and the club are wrong and nothing is going to change that. Our only hope is for an amicable compromise to allow Gus and the club to move on.

He also stated twice, I think, that "I am the manager". Is this a sign that he intends to make the club's attempt to get someone in and push Gus aside as difficult as possible?

An interesting week to come. One that will surely shape our season.

I get the idea some silly people are trying to add some mysterious depth to his straightforward answers to the questions. He is the current manager and he hopes to have something sorted out with it all this week. That's the summary and not some statement of horrendous greed when the words were simple and not notably double-edged.

Unfortunately I think your opinion about the sign looks about right.
Hope we're wrong and it all ends in the best interest of the club....but just don't get the impression that is going to happen!

Right here, right now
Until we know exactly why Gus was suspended it is difficult to make a judgement over who is right or wrong.

Having seen him tonight, I still think Gus has been a great manager for us and has reminded me of how camera friendly he is.

Gotta love him (depending on what he did obviously!)

So, so sorry for being silly oh wise one. I'm surprised your stunning level of logic even allows you to waste your time on watching football.

What does he say on 1.16 ? 'This week' ? The bit before he says 'we can then all talk.'

Took me by surprise that. Didn't really tell us much but at least we know it should be sorted out this week.

I have to say - aside from trying to read between the lines of his rather cool response to Lineker's questions - the one thing that chat left me with was the sick feeling that we are about to lose the best manager we have ever had.

From 0:58 - 1:04 in the vid:

GL: Are you surprised by the stance of the club?

GP: Well, I don't know all the issues.....

Is he really saying that the club haven't told him all the allegations? Shirley not?

I don't think we can read anything into any of his answers.
If you are suspended by your company and a newspaper asks about it, you would answer in exactly the same way. The way he responded was the only way possible. We will have to wait until after this is sorted and even then details may be sketchy.
I do think that we are potentially about to lose a very good football brain.

Anyway i'm disappointed in Uruguay. Ramirez was their most dangerous player and he got taken off. Cavani looks pony and they can't get Suarez on the ball.
And I don't like the way Spain play football. Everyone talks about its beauty etc. but in honesty its all little tactical plays. Their success is about frustrating opponents, drawing mistakes and fouls. And if they even slightly think the other team are breaking then foul them.
