Poyet to Reading thread, massively odds on, (maybe) in talks with them [merged]

Latest update from my source - no movement of Gus expected, except maybe from his hotel room to the beach, board are contemplating issuing a statement quashing rumours too, though i wouldnt hold my breath about that.

See I LIKE reading this sort of thing :)

I would take the reading job if the chairman is married to this!

IF Gus and goes and IF Adkins comes in...

Will our fans not be utter mongs and get angry at the prospect? Hate to say it but I can really see it happening. We aren't Chelsea, so please don't act like spoilt brats.

Cheers

Re: Poyet to Reading thread, massively odds on, (maybe) in talks with them [merged]

Anyone else suspect that this is politics between Gus and TB?

Gus wants a higher budget (and deserves one) but TB is keeping the purse strings tight.

Gus could be stalling his inevitable rejection of the Reading job to demonstrate that the situation is fragile, putting pressure on TB, and that he could easily find a bigger budget at another Championship club.

Or perhaps he wants a higher wage himself, £2m for 2 and a half years remaining on his contract is nothing - Gus clearly isn't earning as much as he should be.

Surely both of them will want him to stay. I think the question could be whether TB will call his bluff. I speculate that the delay could be because TB and Gus have yet to have words (or negotiations?)

Or maybe Gus and Lord Bloom are having a break and a chuckle because they don't know anything about this nonsense, Gus us away so can't deny anything which gives the bookies and papers a few quid!

So Gus is playing poker and mind games with Tony? :lolol:

I don't think Adkins would come to us personally. I can't imagine life after Gus!

Was really gutted when Adams left us. WIll be the same IF Gus does too. I should think tomorrow is when we finally get our answer. Let's keep our fingers crossed. If he is going then I'm sure Bloom will find a decent replacement. Just feels strange that Gus could be leaving. He is part of the furniture.

I'm a little bemused at the wrist slashers worried about Gus leaving!?! So what if he leaves, good luck to him and we move on. I think we will continue to progress and improve with or without Gus, I'm actually a little excited at the prospect of a change in manager and who we might attract if Gus moves on.

Gus is to stay and that's 90% sure now, from my reliable source.

No interest from Gus, chance this will be used by him to get a better contract and a bigger kitty for the Summer.

Richard Keys on Twitter has pretty much just ruled Gus out of the running for the Reading job.

Source inside club suggests he is on his way 'barring something surprising'. I remain positive.
