Poundland is in the Whitgift centre and not one of the old market areas like Surrey St which if so could be part explanation for the rats and mice, not an excuse but a reason

There is one opposite the whitgift on north end, I walk past it on the way to work most mornings. There is always a large queue waiting for it to open, you couldn't make it up.
