Fair points but it makes the Aubameyang utterly bizarre. Why would they back Tuchel so heavily in the market if they knew he was getting the push?

The chairman has signed his own players. He's one of them. There's no plan behind their signings beyond a naive show of strength.

This is happening to fast for it not to be planned and discussed between Potter the club and Chelsea weeks ago, tucal sacked in the morning Potter interview in the afternoon,, no initial resistance from us
There can't be any resistance from us, he has a clause in his contract. Obviously Chelsea will have considered options before sacking Tucal and if they did wait until then contacting us and Potter, it still could have happened this quickly.

Don’t be daft,

He himself has stated he goes out in disguise, I'm sure there will be idiots who feel the need to have a pop. I avoid the City apart from Falmer so it wouldn't be me, haha.

Unsettled until Poch turns up and lashes the ball into the back of the net from the half-way line, turns to the players and says 'now, get to training lads'.
.....and young Tsoungui will shrug his shoulders and mutter 'WhoTF is this jerk? Been there, seen it, done it - why have they brought in a manager who hsn't even begun to keep up with where we are'.......

Reason for Staying;

GP often talks about how well he gets on with TB and PB.
The team is really united and on the verge of possibly winning achieving something.
Life by the sea allows GP some anonymity which he might not enjoy if he moved.
The new Chelsea chairman appears to be in an almighty rush for success which makes for a pressured working environment.
At this moment GP has many admirers but in this country he hasn’t actually won anything.
without TB giving him a chance in the premier league he might have had to wait until he got Swansea promotion not many managers get a chance without previous success at this level.
GP has stated a number of times how much he enjoys working and living here.
Chelsea along with other big clubs have players with big egos who can disrupt and derail the team would GP be given the time needed to sort this.

Reasons for Going;

Chelsea are a big club well bigger than Brighton
More likely to win silverware
Agent Cucrella went ahead of him
It’s commutable from Brighton no need to move and disrupt family life where else would he get a similar chance with these advantages
Brighton and Chelsea appear to have some good links of late with players going in both directions

When he decides he wants another one (or he’s sacked).

I was trying to think of another Brighton manager who has been poached by a bigger club. I’ve been watching us since 84 and I can’t think of any. Did Mickey Adams (first iteration) get ‘turned’?

Micky Adams to Leicester was a bit of a kick because he went to be Harry Bassets assistant at first. Reading snaffled Coppell, and later interviewed Gus Poyet, but he turned that move down.

I had an inkling Adams went, I’d forgotten Coppell - cheers

More bollox :shrug:
You would have thought that GP would talk it over first with his family before saying yes now.

Freddie Goodwin. A good while before '84 though!

Talked what over ? 800% pay rise , only 90 minutes up the road to Cobham.
